We have just had an amazing weekend of dancing in Cliddesden Millenium Village Hall - what a fabulous venue and location.
We had dancers from around the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and the Czech Republic, and as always we got amazing weather. A huge thank you to all our friends for their support as always and it was great to see so many new faces at the event. Magic.
Padraig & Roisin were fabulous and treated 3 full workshop houses to 6 sets, on Saturday
-
the Durrow Threshing from Co Laois,
-
the Tory Island Lancers from Donegal,
-
the Inis Meain from the Aran Islands in Co Galway,
-
the Kildownet Half Set from Co Mayo,
On Sunday morning we tackled the Gillen Set from Co Offaly and the Sneem from Kerry
We danced quite a few new sets, never before done at our weekends - including the 6 above - and unbelievably (for some) the Caledonian for the first time ever (in our 21st ceili)!
We'll be uploading photos of the weekend here and on our facebook page - setsmad dancing

Our Weekends - something different
We have run four weekend events with teachers and bands from Ireland. We call them Revival weekends. Our approach is to dance a wide variety of sets. Many experienced dancers complain of dancing the same sets at ceilis and weekends in Ireland and elsewhere. We believe there are many beautiful, charming and sometimes challenging sets that are not in the top dozen in terms of popularity that should be danced more often. We love the classic sets, and they have a cherished place at our events, but only once in a weekend; they complement the rare gems that we love to polish and display.
Our annual event is on the 4th weekend of September. Roll on 2012!
At our previous weekends we have danced over 50 different sets from all around Ireland danced by visitors from all over the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, the USA and Japan.
